I took my brand new boat to lauglin a couple of days ago. When I tried docking the boat, I hit a big rock and chipped a small piece of fiberglass from my hull. The damage is right under the keel. I was wondering if there's something I can do until I take it back to the dealership? I plan on taking the boat out a few more times so I can get the chip fix and the 10 hours service at the same time. The chip is less than one square inch.

BTW, how do you post a picture???

Marine Tex will repair it. Do it quick just incase water in infiltrating the inner fiberglass.

Is it a gel coat chip or is it into the fiber glass itself? If it's just a gel coat chip you can run to your dealer and get a gel coat repair kit for your boat. The gel coat in the repair kit will be a perfect match. If you follow the directions you won't even be able to see it.

If it's into the fiber glass itself, I wouldn't use the boat without sealing it first. You don't know what kind of weeping it will do if you put it in the water.
