Hull Construction And In-Hull Transducers

I want to install an in-hull (shoot thru) transducer in the engine well of a 2152. For in-hull transducers there can't be any material sandwiched between the fiberglass in the hull. It needs to be solid fiberglass. I wouldn't think there is, but does anyone know if there is any kind of material like foam or wood sandwiched in the hull of these Trophy boats?

And for those who have used in-hull transducers in their Trophy, does the front of the engine well, next to the aft bilge, make for a good location? I'm going to test it out before I epoxy it but, if anyone knows of a spot that allows a good, strong sonar signal I would appreciate the help.

The hulls are made of fiberglass, there is no wood or foam board in between.

I installed an external transducer, so cannot help you on the location.

sorry I have transom mount. go transom mount or through hull for better accuracy. in hull...not so great, you loose quit a bit of accuracy. JMO
