hull damage maybe from rollers incorrect setup

I notcied today that my hull has a bow in it where one of the rollers are sitting. is this caused by a rotted stringer ot bad positioning of the rollers on the trailer?<br /><br />what should i look out for..can i repair it?<br /><br />here are some pictures i took tonight. it actually looks much worse than in these pictures.<br /><br />

Could be rot. Worth looking into.<br /><br />You might also look into a bunk trailer. Rollers are nice for launching, but support for the craft is sacrificed. You're holding up a lot of weight at just a few points. Total contact area is measured in square inches. Bunks support MUCH better and contact is several square feet.

Looks like the one roller is on your strake pushing in the hull to me.(top pic) All your rollers should be flat against the hull and not on your strakes. This can weaken and possilby permantely deform your hull in that area. Try jacking up your boat off the trailer and see if the bow/warp goes away.<br /><br />I agree with Willy, bunks provide a much better support. I like rollers for the ease of unloading/loading, but for long periods on the trailer nothing better than bunks.

The roller on the strake also looks like it is bent.

I agree with Rick... the roller in the first pic looks shot. It should sit to the right of the strake and not on it. I've got a roller trailer and a 16 year old 21 footer and there is no distortion in the hull. How long has the boat been on the trailer? It looks like a soft spot which is more than likely rot.

In looking at the last picture, I would say you have major hull deterioration. That amount of flex indicates to me that both the stringer and hull material may have been compromised.<br /><br />Take a drill or screw driver to some of the structural members in the bilge.

You need to define the damage. Go into the bilge and determine what components are bad by probing the structural members and the hull. Look to see how much of the hull is involved as well. Once that is done, make a determination as to whether or not you feel up to the repair. I doubt having it done by a shop would be affordable.<br /><br />How old a boat; how large?
