thats what matt rollers are for, also helps to put the resin on and squeege it around with a bondo squeege rather than a brush when working with loose material

What is your deck made of? Is it carpeted, or a gel-coat finish?

It's made of plywood and does have carpet.

Update:

Tried my hand at gel coat, Still needs another coat and a sanding, but I'm about done. Thanks to all who have helped me!!

Thanks! I am not concerned about the brighter white, as long as it's safe.
