Re: hull hook repair?

How did you glass in the stringer, it should be able to hold the hull straight.

It sounds like the trailer is set up wrong, or the hull is still very weak.

Re: hull hook repair?

i dont understand.......

is the hook on the craft....when it is in the water....and on the trailer?

the stringer refit should have left you with a straight hull...you should be able to see it as it sits on the trailer..........(see the straight hull)....can you?....

those stringers...cant just bend longitudenaly(...is that a word?)

if the hook occures in the water...the hull is weak and will need a layer of glass to reinforce it.....

can you please give us more detailes?.....

btw...imho opinion...this is a very important thread for all restorers

I agree, very important thread. I wonder if this boat saw a few " big waves " at some point and a weakened hull was the result.

Re: hull hook repair?

i adjusted the middle roller down to where the hull is not sitting on it. it has hook on the trailer and im not sure about when its in the water. i can clearly see it when i look at it. as far as i know, it doesnt flex in the water or on the trailer when i walk on it. the hull and stringers seem very strong.

so, i said the *@#$ with it and installed my new floor, which i am happy with!

maybe overtime with the roller down the hull will form back. . . . . . maybe?

Might be like trying to straighted the bow out of a nail. You might be able to get rid of some of it, but it will never be straight.

Re: hull hook repair?

i didnt take any pics. i think the hook was caused by the trailer, one roller was adjusted to high. i looked at it again today and i dont think its as bad as it was but its still there.
