I am restoring a 1985 Welcraft Elite which among other problems (rotten stringer and deck) has a 10" x 4" hole in the bottom of the hull. It basically wore right through the outer skin.
I have sanded it and grinded a 12/1 bevel and am applying a patch from the outside using 5 layers of 10oz boat cloth and epoxy.
The question. On the inside of the hole is the inner skin/floor. Is it ok to epoxy the cloth to the inner skin or do they need to be seperate to flex/move independently?
