hull support

here is my new project I just got to my house. Its a 19 foot tri hull. Im taking the motor out and taking it off the trailer. The trailer is in need of repairs.

When I remove the cap and the stringers can I walk on the inside of it? How do I support the hull and not allow it to warp while I replace the guts? Please let me know the best way to support it, thanks!

Yes, you can walk around inside the hull. There's really no other way to get in there and do all of that wonderful grinding. You must support the hull properly first. Do a search on cradles in the search bar. You will get alot of ideas.

Welcome to i-boats finx.
Very nice project you have. Lot of work to do.
You will need a cradle for it and like the other 2 ^^^^said lots of ways to do it.
Make sure you take lots and lots of pics as you dismatle the boat.
Take even more measurements and wright them down. It will really help in putting things back together.
Make sure you have all the protective gear before you start grinding out the hull.

Also, I saw a bunch of different cradles that I could make. One thing was that people said use nylon straps to make sure it doesnt flex. Where exactly would I attach these straps to on the boat? Thanks!

The straps go all the way around the hull after you take the cap off & hooks to itself. then you use the ratchet to tighten the hull back up to the correct dimension across it's width at the point you wrapped the strap. On a 19' TriHull, I'd probably use 4 evenly space along it's length, @ 3.75'-4' between.

So basically like this? I havent seen anybody else's straps in any restoration pics. they leave this step out of the pics.

Yep, measure & RECORD dimension across the hull & make sure the straps won't slip when you tighten them. You shouldn't have to make them too tight......

Have a plan for putting the cap somewhere while you gut & redo the hull.
