Hull type and model

Not sure if this the write area to ask.

One of my customers has this red hull center console boat. Im going to trade some upholster work for the boat.
It used to be a US tow boat.

The boat is 2 hours away from where im locating.
Im trying to save gas and time. to go see it.
maybe one of you can help me.

I want to know the
Model Manufacture and maybe the year on this boats.

It used to have a inboard engine.

He is also going to give me a 300 HP old Johnson outboard.

Would the hull and trailer be worth anything?
I was thinking maybe the engine would be worth something.

If the trailer rolls, it's probably worth "something" ... if the boat is solid and floats, it's probably worth "something" ... if the motor runs, then it's worth "something." If the whole rig works together, it's actually a pretty stout setup.

You're never going to make money off the boat - even if you get it for free. But it might be a nice utility boat.

Where is the old tub located at just in case someone is willing to check it out for you?

It is sort of appealing or is that appalling? Either way I think for an old glass boat it could be a worthwhile project.

As far as the hull info, there are numbers and letters engraved into the outside of the transom on one of the upper corners. Post them and all info will be gathered from them. You, as noted , will be putting a ton of money into it. Converting from Inboard to outboard means a motor bracket attached to the transom, controls,gauges and bringing the outboard back to life,among other things.You could be well into the thousands on this alone.Is the transom and stringers solid or has water been sitting in the hull for years,freezing and thawing along with said water getting into any open screw and bolt holes that were left open after the Inboard engine was removed. Not sure what the upholstery is actually worth to you,but I would rather get a turn key boat for probably less money than you will end up putting into it. Then there is your time to consider,which may be months and months on this along with a headache at every turn. So my suggestion without knowing all the facts is run,run ,run from it and don't even turn around to take another look at it. You also said you are saving up for gas money to be able to take a look at it because its a two hour drive. If that's your case your running on empty already and this will bankrupt you.

An old OMC 300HP will use UNGODLY amounts of gas.
