Re: hull?
It's a semi-vee, as most small fishin boats are, and most other boats were up until about the mid 60's. It was found to be unsafe to have a full Vee bottom boat, on anything less then 18'. Glastron I believe was the first one to make a 16' Vee bottom, and it was very tippy back then. Constant movement in a small fishing boat, would make a Vee bottom very unstable, in fact this was the main reason, the tri-hull, and cathedral hull boats were very popular at one time, stability. Vee bottoms, or Deep vee's, ride much smoother in chop then flatbottoms, or semi-vee's, hence the dawning of the Cigarette style Deep Vee Ocean Racers, because they were big enough to handle the lack of stability, and the trickle down of Vee bottoms, into the general boat building public. I've read the only drawback is, a 15% loss in speed compared to a flat bottom. If you notice, there still are some tri-hull, or similar hull designs used on small fishing boats, because of their more stable design.
