sorry, bro Jas. the low road seems to be where i live. no offense meant, just can't resist a straight line.

i fear you're probably quite right on the popcorn. i was just thinking (that would be the grinding noise you heard) that it would be mounted high enough (on top of pink foam, just under floorboards) that it wouldn;'t be immersed unless the bilge was already full of water. the stuff doesn't absorb moisture out of the air, or does it?

Yah, I did a bit of an unscientific test on em and they tend to soak some. I don't think I'd bother with em buddy.
