Re: Human gets stuck underwater to outboard prop

I have no theories to offer but that sounds like it could have been a messy disaster.

OH its obvious to me.

He had a cooler full of beer that needed attention. Problem was he knocked his bottle opener over board with his huge beer gut during a failed attempt to moon a boat full of women just moments earlier.

Now whats a drunk to do? A cooler full of beer and no bottle opener. DING DING DING, just ease it up to the spinning prop and poof! BEER OPENER!

Thats what I'd do.

Pretty straightforward. Drunk falls overboard, pilotless boat circles around and tries to jullienne him. Dang lucky he was wearing the T shirt or the prop would have sliced him up good.

I guess the "Drunken boating charge" does answer the question of whether alcohol was involved....:)

I'd like to know how big the motor was and was it idling. He's damn lucky. "The Lord looks out for fools and drunkards."

My friend you are a great detective. After hearing your theory, there is no doubt at all in my mind that thats what happened.:D I like it.

Thank you sir.

However I must note that this also points out his inexperience as a proper drunk.

All professional drunks keep a bottle opener on their keychain which would have been connected to the boat key safely at the helm.

Also, he was obviously using bottles. Every good drunk knows its impossible to execute a 'woman wooing' and proper 'beer can head crush' with a glass bottle.

Maybe this experience will help him realize that he needs to surround himself with proper drunks or maybe take a class or two so he wont make these amature alcoholic mistakes again. I mean seriously, he could get hurt!

I shall soon have a wall-mount bottle opener on my console. It's like when the gas station chains the key to the bathroom to a broomstick. Gotta lose 21 feet of boat to lose the opener; in that case you don't need anything more opened.

He must be one strong SOB to not have been drawn into the spinning prop by the t-shirt that got caught.

"they found his T-shirt wrapped around the boat's outboard motor propeller, which had killed the motor, "

It must have been a small motor 5hp or so and running at idle for it to stall out............If I would get tangled in my 5.7 at idle i'm chum x 2,

He's a lucky dude thats all I have to say.
