Humminbird FF Question

I am contemplating purchasing a new fish finder. I am trying to stick with Humminbird ( I have had several products, and am comfortable with them), while staying in my available budget.

The two that I am looking at is the 718 or the 570.

They are both do-able for me, but I don't understand alot of the features. To be honest, they seem like the same units to me.

I do actively fish in marine rip currents on the LI Sound.

If anyone out there can check these out, and chime in thier input, it would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at the specs, and would take the 718 over the 570. The only thing the 570 has over the 718, is some verticle screen resolution. Look at the displays side by side, and you will probably not see any differance.

-718 can add gps for chart plotting
-718 has three "user" buttons that you can customize with your favorit screens.
-718 has slightly more power and depth capability.
-718 has additional screens like "flasher mode" and additional features like "switchfire"

I don't have any experience in your type of water, but if you were happy with other lower cost HB units in that application, the 718 should be fine.
