That model is the entry level fishfinder. It is real simple to use, and I am surprized that Humminbird doesn't have a downloadable manual.
I had a precursor to that model. On my FF, if you hold down the power button it will go into simulator mode. Just push the power button momentarily and it is in normal mode. The light button had several settings for light intensity. You could set it to beep when it detected fish or low water.
I used mine for years and sold it with the boat. They might still sell that model. you could go to a marine store and play around with it.
