I have a humminbird 161 combo on my boat now. I have purchased a new humminbird Helix 7 DI without GPS.
I will be installing the new one and was wondering if I remove the transducer from the 161 combo, will the GPS in that unit still work?
I will be keeping the 161 combo in the boat to use strictly for the GPS, and the new helix as the FF.
If I have to I will leave the old one intact and put the new one in a different location.
The transducer is on the transom, so, I am trying to limit any more holes to it.
