Humminbird HDR 610

I have this depth finder and at times it just goes blank with nothing but ft on. then at times it comes back on on its own. any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

How is your transducer mounted?, pics /details will help

It is mounted in hull directly under motor. this is on a 95 bayliner 2050ss 4.3 lx

I researched these when I was looking for one. From what I read, a ton of negative reviews come up on these on a google search. Also, there are a ton of these sold on ebay as refurbished units, so that tells the story too. I bit the bullet and went for a Faria unit which was more than double the price. Very happy with it, works flawlessly and looks great. Sorry can't help with troubleshooting, but I suspect you may have to send it back for repair
