I bought an old boat to fix up and it came with a Humminbird wide c depth finder. The power leads were cut. Can someone tell me the correct way to wire it up.

llfish,

Usually, if you peel the sheath back, you'll expose the wire colors. Black will be negative. Blue, red, or white will be positive.

Re: Humminbird

Most of these units have reverse polarity protection. If you hook it up wrong it won't damage anything it just won't work.

Buttanic

Re: Humminbird

Buttanic is correct about the reverse polarity. You cannot damage it by reversing the leads. Contrary to most posts about these units, I have had a 200 DX for years and never had a problem. Had another humminbird unit before that(Can't remember the model) and it worked great, too. This one does everything I need and more. I also have an Eagle, which was given to me and also has been a good unit, but I use the humminbird almost exclusivly.

llfish, I would install an inline fuse, probably 1 amp. might want to check out www.humminbird.com to get the correct value for your unit.

jtw
