i have the humminbird 565 and put a speed sensor on my pontoon.

my problem is that for some unknown reason my instructions were blown into the water and floted away. i put the sensor on one toon/log and the depth sensor on the other toon/log.

it does ot work right, someone told me that both sensors had to be close together, like 6 inches.

have you guys any idea as to what is right?

Both sensors do not need to be put together. I have the same fishfinder with the speed and temp sensor. You can go to Hummingbird website and download a pdf copy of the manual.

Need a little more information here.

Can you define not working right? The sensor reads an error, the speed is way off? erratic readings?

Is this the paddle version speed sensor you have? Does the little wheel move while your under way?

Did you look through the trouble shooting section of the Humminbird manual?
