The wire for the reciever on my LCR 400 ID isn't long enough to reach the back of the boat, so I cut it and patched in another 5 feet. Are there any adjustments to be done after this? Was it a dumb thing to do or will it work? Do I need to use sheilded wire? I just used maring grade insulated 14 guage. Also when I go fast the finder freaks out and tells me that there are fish everywhere and that my little lake is 500 feet deep. :p Is it only supposed to work at slow speed?
Eric

It was a dumb thing to do, Eric, but it looks like you got away with it.

As far as freaking out, that is what H'birds do.

Time for a new unit. I just replaced my LCR 400. It behaved the same as yours. There is a whole world under your boat that you are missing with that old hbird unit.

I can't tell you if the patch will work or not.
