HB has had SI for a number of years. I have owned SI units for at least 4. SI is great at finding and identifing structure. It covers much more area and thus much shorter time than a 2D sonar. It is not that easy to use for fish finding, especially the smaller screen units.
HB did just come out with some DI units? Is that what you meant? What I said still applies though. Just with DI you don't cover more area than 2D but you do get to see more detail which helps id the structure.
