Hello, I have a Jon Boat I picked up some years back and am getting it ready to do some fishing. It is prewired with a Transducer mounted on the transom and has the power cable also run. Both of the plugs are 2 pin round plugs. 1 power and 1 tranducer. I came across a Hummingbird TCR ID 1 head unit this week. This thing is hardly used and looks brand new. When I looked at it I new it had differant plugs on it but for 5 bucks I could not pass it up. I was able to power it up with a makeshift plug and it worked great. It went into the demo mode and was able to play around with it. There a 3 other 2 pin plugs lined up next to each other. From what I have been able to find out that 1 is for the transducer, 1 is for the speed function, and the other is for the temp. My first question is which one is for which. The plugs are all the same with a notch in the same spot on all 3. There is no markings on the rear cover at all. Which one is for the tranducer? The other question is would it work with the transducer I have on the boat. Its no problem to make an adapter but I just need to know what one it plugs into. I know the tranducer that is on the boat is from the mid 80's. Any suggestion or thoughts. Sorry for the long post.

Manual: http://www.humminbird.com/PDF/tcrid-1.pdf

The TCR used a tilt/swivel mount. Each connector is keyed to go in the right place. The head unit then plugs into it. There is a lever on the back to release and pull it off. It sounds like you might have not received the tilt/swivel mount with yours. These are old units, and you would probably have to purchase through ebay or other used source.

The online manual didn't show the connectors, but believe the TCR ID1 was the same as my first FF TCR101. Power cable has a number 1 on it and turned 90 degrees from the others. The other connectors have numbers and go in sequence from the power cable.

The round connectors on your boat, are probably from an Eagle/Lowrance unit or HB LCR.

The transducer has a hummingbird logo on it. I quess once I get it in the water I could just try the differant plugs and see if I get any results. I only oaid 5 bucks for the head. What the worst that could happen.

Smoke on the water....., a fire in the sky.... Deep Purple

:D

Just waste the unit and $5

If it is a HB transducer and it has a round end, it is not for a TCR. You might be able to coble some wiring up and see if you get readings. Not sure how compatable other HB transducers are with the TCR.

Since you already know the correct pins for power, you just have to be careful not to short the transducer pins together.

Depending on the plugs you have you could have a set for a TCR, LCR or a TSX
