The upcoming huuricane season is supposed to be "Very Active"

With the combination of poor housing start numbers and a 2006 hurricane season that was largely a bust, God wasn't very kind to us poor northern plywood producers.

Hopefully He'll change that this year.

If your commercial interests largely depends on the tragedies and hardships of others, i would like nothing better than to see the continuation of the "bust". :p

If it makes ya feel any better I bought all of my plywood and OSB for the new house when the prices just started dropping. Those products are about 40% cheaper now.

Re: Hurricane Forecasts

I wouldn't place too much stake in the supposed expert opinion on the "Very Active" hurricane forecasts for this upcoming season. The 'experts' dropped the ball last season by a dozen or more with only 5 named storms and none that hit the mainland. Was it you or someone else a couple of years back that was whining about all of the people that live near the coast driving up insurance rates? 8) Anyway,I wouldn't take out a big loan on anything banking on a big year.If I replace any siding or facia as a result of a catastrophic storm ,I'm replacing with 'hardy plank' anyway. Unless the decrease in demand for plywood drives the prices back down.d:)Thankfully God has been good to us on the Texas coast in recent years.

Why, yes, it does make me feel better! Thanks!

All the prices have dropped, but OSB has dropped significantly faster and lower.
