Good question.
For me, I don't live in a flood area, so having the boat(s) get washed away is not an issue. I don't know how other guys deal with that though. Maybe they trailer them to higher ground?
IF a big storm starts bearing down on me, I'll anchor the trailer to the ground with screw-in type anchors, like those used for dog chains. Will also strap the boat tightly to the trailer. Flying debris will be the only issue then. My home is situated such that the high speed winds won't hit directly, so the only real risk are from roiling winds. Those can be dangerous, but the odds of a direct hit are extremely small.
Ideally, an underground bunker would be best! LOL!
