I wonder if anyone knows anything about a Hurricane fun deck boat built by Godfry Marine. It is a 1986 19 ft fiberglass Tri- Hull with a deck on top.It is similar to a pontoon only with a full fiberglass Tri-hull.
I am looking for information on how it is build. 1-Does it have a full wood transom. 2-Does it have foam in the hull for floatation 3-Does it have fiberglass stringers. Also how to remove the deck if I need to work on the hull (remove flotation etc)Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Fred

Re: Hurricane Tri Hull deck boat

Thanks guys for the Decker's site. However my boat is built by Godfry Marine so I am not sure how much of this information is the same. However it is probably similar. I am still looking for information and maybe adds that might show more information pertinent to my boat. By the way this is a great site with people willing to help others. Thanks again

Brand name has little to do with the ways boats were built during a certain era. Your boat will be built with the same wood reinforced construction as Deckers '83 boat and when you lift the decking and cap off you'll think they're twins. There will be fiberglass encased wooden stringers and lots of 2 part expanding urethane foam, there will more than likely be lots of rot and saturated/waterlogged foam.

Just as a for instance, here's a smaller deck boat from '79 that you can compare to Deckers boat:

Even though the boat is smaller and built by a different manufacturer the building components are pretty much the same in both of those boats as they will be in your boat.

The only way to see exactly what you have is too open her up and have a looky see.
