#1. List outboard 85 HP Force 1988.
#2. Current prop is a 13 3/4x15 pitch and changed to 14x13pitch.
#3. 15 pitch was 4600rpm and New is 5400rpm..
#4. Firberglass Deep V. Bayliner 17.5 or Capri 1700.
Some sorta whale tail.

There are some issue with the boat such as trim and temperatue.

Seems I can fix trim and it works for a bit then seems to fail.
Can the trim and heat really affect rpms that much?

Temps this morning were 65 and warmed to 85.
Prop turned 5400rpms all trimmed out and seemed fast. Guage is inaccurate and no GPS yet. :( Felt like 28-32 mph but I am guessing. Then after the kids played on the beach. We again went WOT and got only 5100 rpms. Trim also seemed not to lift motor as much. I could be mistaken however, it fell down at the ramp while getting truck!! Ahhhhhhhhh c#$%.

The 15 pitch prop was run WOT @4600 RPM and temps were in the 90's

Just wondering if you've tried running without that whale tail. Although the whale tail will get you on plane faster, it has been my experience that it also cuts top rpm and speed. Since the Hustler prop has ventilation holes that improves hole shot already you may not need the whale tail anymore. This is what I determined after testing my boat with 70hp Johnson outboard using a Hustler prop with and without the whaletail and with differring loads. Holeshot was great, motor ran 300-400 rpms higher with top speed 2 to 3 mph higher as well without the whaletail. All tests were done trimming the motor for best holeshot and then best efficiency on plane. No more whale tail for me.

MY hustler props don't have holes. Don't need holes as there is no exhaust through the hub.
Whale tail does not seem to affect speed to much however I do need a GPS unit and will try with and without tail but my issue again is the tilt/trim unit. I think I need to either pitch the motor or somehow fix what I got.
