I have finally found a great site of people whom enjoy boat restoration. I have been restoring a 1976 Hydra-Sport HydraFlight for about 4 months now. I wish I could have had ya'll input earlier in the project. I definately will use this forum from here on out. I hope to post some pictures of my current progress. <br /><br />This boat is on it's way back to the water, where it belongs.

Hey, I just bought a '76 Hydra Sport as well. I have a post in the non-motorized thread concerning my missing hatch cover. So what have you dodne to the boat?

I sanded down all the faded interior and repainted the whole boat white. I repaired the hulls gelcoat,put in a new floor, put new carpet in, installed a new fish finder, and tachometer. Installed a permanent 20 gallon aluminum gas tank, and will top it off with a 1976 85hp Mercury Outboard. Black max,<br /><br />I will send you some pics this weekend. My boat is in pretty good condition structurally but really faded on top. It was a gold fleck color, but is really tan where the sun beat down on it. I will end up painting it as well. <br /><br />I have rewired the boat and put in a 4 switch waterproof panel (west marine) and am thinking of putting in a permanent gas tank. <br /><br />Mine came with a 70hp Johnson and I paid $1,000 for the boat, trailer and motor. It is very fast and really takes the waves nice for a smaller boat.
