hydra sports vector 1750

I just recently bought a 1750 hydra sports center console and it came with a 95 merc black max 150. Its runs fine as i did all the necessary tune up but my buddy keeps telling me that its WAY to big for the boat and has alot uf unnecessary weight on the transom. so my question is this true? i have tried searching for max motor ratings with no luck. so basically im in the process of looking for a 90-115hp but its really slim pickings without spending 2 plus grand. I am really getting frustrated and am ready to just sell it all and start over. i purchased the boat motor and trailer all in great condition for 2,000 so i feel i got a great deal but am tired already of trying to switch all this over with new controls and new motor and havent even sold my old motor. So now i have the wife on my case about the money that i spent on a boat we cant use. Sorry so long winded but any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks

If this is your boat, you have the right motor. What are the last 2 digits of the HIN?

I'm assuming the hin is the number on the right side in the rear. The last two numbers are 90. Let me know if this is correct. Thanks

Hey hope you still have your boat I have a 1994 1750 vector I have a 1994 evinrude 150 on it its the max rated for our boat it does put a little weight in the back but you cant beat the power you have Over a 115 keep it the way it is if you ask me I love my vector wouldn't change a thing

I have one of these too, with the 115, performs great with the 115, but of corse I would love to put a 140 or 150 on it, but for now I have plenty of power, great boat

I dont have the Hydra sports vector but do have a 18' CC Angler also with a 150Hp black max and lets just say that I consider myself blessed and so should you.

If you can stomach the gas comsumption of the blackmax dont change a thing.
