Hydraulic Fluid Leak Tilt/Trim

I accidentally tried to lower my outboard with my electric trim button, but the manual stop was up on the back of the unit. I noticed that there was hydraulic fluid leaking a little in from the unit. It stopped, and the tilt still works fine, but is that something that could have caused other damage??
