hydraulic line connection to trim pump-leaking past threads

I am very cautious about overtightening the hydraulic line into the trim pump and thought I had it tight, but I am getting fluid leaking past the threads on the connection in the dogbone (the high pressure line).

I am not sure if it was cross threaded or not, and I know this has to be tight for the flange to meet the connection and sit correctly. Is there someline like plumbers putty or something that would help stop the leak? The pump works as long as it holds fluid.

You can lube the fitting with oil or something to make sure it tightens smoothly... but the actual leak prevention is the flare itself. If either the hose or the nipple inside the pump is damaged, no sealant will help. Try removing it and verifying nothing is kinked, or scored, and then retighten and see what happens.
