Hydraulic oil leak...?

omc cobra 5.0.

I noticed a little hydro leak when painting my outdrive today. The leak started when I removed the trim cylinders and blocked the outdrive to get better access to hard to paint parts.

so the leak started when the drive was all the way down--but the drive may have been slightly "hyper-extended." When I noticed the leak I blocked the drive back up and the leak stopped.

is there something that would cause a hydraulic leak if the drive was "hyper-extended?" I checked the trim cylinders and their hoses for leaks and nothing. any ideas? The fluid was dripping from the skeg...and could not find a trail.

-Thanks, Greg.

Exactly. I'm not sure, if I knew then...

But is there anything hydraulic that might be directly affected by letting the drive hang down to far without the support of the trip cylinders? Something that might rupture or open up allowing fluid to leak?

Wipe it off and move it around and see where it's coming from.
I can't do that from here, and that is the ONLY way to find a leak. Guessing and replacing the part that was guessed at gets expensive. Especially when a lot of the guesses are by those that have a completely different drive.
