Hydraulic oil (sterndrive)

I have a Volvo 4.3 GXi-J and I was wondering why I don't have a small hydraulic oil tank in the engine compartment ?

Few boats (Mercruser 4.3L and Volvo 5.7L) I've seen had this "overflow" tank.

How could you rapidly check if you're OK on the hydraulic Oil Level ????

Are you referring to the gear lube monitor? If so, Volvo doesn't use them. There is a dipstick on the top of the drive to check your gear lube.
