Has anyone ever run or made a hydrofoil boat? I am not talking about Doel Fins and other hydrofoils . I am questioning about a boat with two wing type foils about midway on the hull and a single wing at the stern. At speed they lift the hull out of the water and only the prop and two foils are in the water.

Many years ago I saw plans in Popular Science and it has been in the back of my mind since then. --Another project to get a "round tuit"

I once saw a guy on a Hobi Cat type sailboat. The hulls were out of the water and the boat was haulin' tushie!

Looked like great fun.

Re: Hydrofoil boat

This should be just the thing. Built in 1995 and currently hauling gamblers from Hong Kong to Macao. Pushed by water jets powered by gas turbines. 50 knots.
