hydrofoil or not

I have a 3.0 Volvo penta on a 1997 1750 sportfish crestliner. It performs just fine. I have a hydrofoil from a previous boat I owned, should I bolt it on to see what happens? Is there any chance performance could be improved? Or is it just a waste of time? Thank you.

It would most likely be a waste of time. If the boat currently works fine what do you want to fix?

I just had this extra hydrofoil sitting and was wondering if it would help with hole shot or top end. Currently I'm very happy with how my boat is performing, and i was actually hoping the responses I would get would say to not put it on. Was just wondering, I guess I can give the hydrofoil away.

I've read some on hydrofoil. Cause we all want that edge performance. But after a lot research, it seems it was just kinda gimmicky bolt on.

If the design had any merit, the outboard and I/O manufacturers would have made the Anti Ventilation Plates that way

If deck weight is evenly distributed, engine is well trimmed, running in excellent working order and correctlly propped, combo doesn't need an Hydrofoil, sometimes instead than improving things, worsens them.
