I have a 97 glastron with the 4.3GL that hydrolocked. We went for a short ride docked for the night and the next morrning water in the cylinders. I did a leak check on the exhaust but all looked good. the engien only has 140hr on it. Any ideas on what would cause this?

Re: Hydrolock ??

A lot of Glastrons with the VP 4.3 have had that happen. Reason for it the risers coming off the exhaust manifolds are not tall enough and under some conditions when shut off, water manages to make it back up, over the riser and into the engine. The fact that Volvo stopped putting the flapper valves in certainly hasn't helped. Saw several like that one year at the dealer

Flappers wouldn't help a low riser problem. Those flappers only slowed down the surge coming in from waves, it didn't prevent all water getting into the exhaust. Just stopped MOST of it. They do not create a perfect seal.
