Made in either the GM Romulus or Tonawanda engine plant. Same plants that supply GM trucks.

Why spend $130 for a used piston and con rod on ebay when new from GM its about $60

For $800 you can get new rotating kits with better pistons and forged rods, or for $300 you can get a pull out motor from LKQ

You just cant take a piston from one motor and drop it into the bore of another motor and hope it to work. You need to measure, at least hone, and install new rings

I realize I'll need new rings. But just replacing the piston is a feasible option isn't it?

I'm trying to do this as cheaply as possible, so $800 right now isn't an option.

If the bore after a deglazing hone is still in spec for the piston and rings, then yes. If not, than no.

As i stated, a running long block is only 300. You still need gaskets. Brass core plugs, etc. So your into it for 500. A good short block is less and you can use your heads.
