Hey all
I have a 2001 VP 3.0 GSP-A. I believe it hydrolocked the other day. User error. Was pretty choppy and so people went to the rear cause they were getting wet, and next thing I knew we lost power. Tried to start it but after turning over a few times it just sounded seized. Pulled the plugs and they seemed wet with water. With plugs out I turned it over a few times to try and get the water out. Hit each cylinder with WD-40 and turned it over again. Etc etc. Drained the oil and found some water. Put in fresh spark plugs and fresh oil in. I can’t get it to start. When I went to pull the spark plug closest to the stern it sounding like lots of air escaping (or getting sucked in) when I got it out, and then there was a gurgling noise. Not sure what my next move is. Thanks for any thoughts

Pull your valve cover. Sounds like may be a broken rocker arm or similar issue

With the engine running and boat moving, if people moved to the back of the boat that should not have caused the engine to stop or ingest water.

I would try a compression test.
