Currenty have a 1994 vantage tandem axle trailer that carries a 21' cuddy cabin with a 5.7 8 cyl merc. The Trailer Contains 10" hydrualic brakes with an atwood Hyrualic surge coupler for a hitch. The Atwood hitch is rated at 6,000 pounds.

I'am interested in repacing this hitch with a new brake kit from Champion Trailers. In the brake kit: it list a Tie Down hydrualic hitch actuator that is rated for 6,600 pounds.

Would this 600 pound difference in the maxium load of the hitch actuator affect my brake/ing ???

Appreciate all your help in the past

I have a Tie Down actuator on my Tow Dolly. I pull a 3000 lb. car and it works great. The dolly is rated at 7000 lbs. Your 6000 lb. boat will operate the actuator just fine. Will you use disc or drum brakes?
