Wanted to post this a month ago but a small problem kept me from the net.

Anyways...

I-90. Mid September. Late afternoon.... doing the work thing going down the thruway.

Hmmm.... boat on trailer.. gotta speed up and see what kind it is!

What a cute little 14' aluminum! I like the old Johnson on the back.

And I love the complete BOAT AND TRAILER on the roof of the pickup truck.

Complete boat and trailer. On the roof of the pickup truck.

COMPLETE.

Amazing. I've never seen anything like it before! And I spend ALOT of time on the highways!

Pulling a boat and trailer. And a 14' aluminum on another trailer on the roof of the Ford pickup with supports holding up the back of the trailer.

Amazing.

Re: I-90

I have a friend who does stuff like that all the time. Pure farm logic.

Just pulled home 2 hay wagons from an auction - 1 on the roof of his tow truck, one strapped to the boom.

Some years ago, we cut a Mercury Comet in 2 and took it to the shredder in the back of his 1/2 ton.

He's been buying boats from the Minnesota online salvage auctions recently, so I'm sure there will be a boat story from a border agent soon enough.

I shake my head everytime, but some people can get away with that stuff.

Re: I-90

Funny thing is... I never thought of it before.

I thought about strapping one to the roof rack.... but not with a trailer on it!

I wonder if he needs to have all working lights on it? Or a plate for it?

:)

Re: I-90

I have seen someone do that so they could pull their travel trailer behind while they brought their boat too.

He had ramps that he could add on so he could pull the trailer up and onto a rack above the truck.

With the weight of the boat and the trailer how on earth did he ge it up the ramps and onto the setup?

Am I crazy to think this is a ridiculous idea? I mean... Boats want to plane so You're kinda trying to lift the truck, then you have center of gravity issues... Not to mention public safety in mind.... I don;t know. It shocked the hell out of me when I saw it.

Wouldn't it make better sense to flip the boat upside down and strap it to the rack instead of throwing the entire trailer and engine rig up there?

in northdakota they allow you to pull double trailers. alot of people hook there boats up behind there campers but i simply use an pickup bed camper only ***** is backing down the ramp with that damn thing on the back. good traction though...lol

Wow. It sold for $750.

It'd be a hoot if it was the same truck I saw on the I-90.

sure looks like the motor would really have to tilt to keep from dragging.
