I have a Rapture SS 21", 14.25 pitch via 5.0 liter V8, Mercruiser 220hp.
Flying across the water, about 2/3rds throttle and RPM's sky rocket and boat comes to a stop. Hit the thottle just a tad and I can troll, too much throttle, we stop. Start heading back to the launch area (2 miles) and stupid me decided to try reverse..... nothing. Should have just puttered back instead of having to be towed. Reverse just stripped it completely out, rendering it useless.
Anyway, once back on the trailer 2 hours later, I discover I spun the prop. All the rubber pieces everywhere. Noticed I had the nut on backwards and didn't have nearly as tight as it needed to be. So, need to get one pressed back in.
Can you tell me where I may be able to find the hub so I can get back on the water. All my shops closed today so it looks like tomorrow is a no go.
I can't believe how dumb I can be sometimes.....can't even install a prop the right way. I did it like you do a trailer hub, tightened all the way, the backed off the nut some. Push 3 of the little tabs on the washer down....DOH!!!
Suprised I got 2 miles as fast as I was going too...lol
How's that for a stupid human trick?!?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
