After five years of high scroll sports back to boating. 1973 ss. Giddyup has awoken. After sitting for 5 yrs with cover caved in after two brutal winters runs like the last time I had it out.motor was stuck but some marvel mystery oil and two weeks af letting it soak and new plugs and inline fuel filter cleaning get gas tank with alcohol fired right up. Been at the lake for two weeks and has run perfect. I did seal up the old manifold drip with jb weld and has not leaked a drop or ran bilge pump.ran bigger fuel line also. Everything worked except the horn. 😕

Too funny! I could fill a prime time spot with video of my admiral not enjoying herself the first few times I stabbed the throttle. :cower:

Now after a season I can play with the throttle and she's laughing her hind end off enjoying the heck out of it. I cruise at about 30 MPH and will stab the throttle which makes a mighty 4BBL howl from the carb and the boat will just launch, instantly going 45 MPH! :D

Are you planning on doing a restore on the ole SS?

I want too restore but for now just replace front floor and wait for a major problem then tear her down. But the boat is solid running and doesn't leak so who knows when that will be. Would like to find a newer parts boat and update. But for a 40+ year boat runs better the some newer boats. Would like to be able to convert from runabout seating to fishing. When needed.
