Don:<br /><br />If this is going to be put in the FAQ section on starting problems, I'd suggest you also add the instructions on diagnosing using a test light or volt meter that you included in a previous post about the subject. <br /><br />I did a quick search but couldn't find it, probably because Don has so many posts and I didn't have time to look very thoroughly. That's the one I used to figure out I had a bad assist solenoid, and it was very straightforward even for a beginner like me. I'm guessing that way has a bit less chance of generating sparks, no?<br /><br />One other suggestion is that you highlight part of the following sentence in your instructions: <br /><br />Change: First thing you have to do is make sure all the battery connections are tight and clean. This includes the ground connections on both ends. <br /><br />To: First thing you have to do is make sure all the battery connections are tight and clean. This includes the ground connections ON BOTH ENDS.<br /><br />For some reason I have a feeling that many of us beginners may need that part hammered into us and that highlighting it might help.<br /><br />Just a couple of suggestions from another boating neophyte (I sure hope neophyte means what I think it means, lol).
