Ok everyone well after a month-long period of downtime with my boat she is back to running like a bat outa hell. I just wanted to post this thread to let everyone know that once I finally got her started, which was a problem due to some awful fuel, the culprit that was causing my engine not to rev to redline was due to the ignition coil wire lead to the distributor bleeding off current to its closest ground... ie the cylinder head. I realized this after sweeping my hand around 3 inches away from the coil during a pull on the engine and getting shocked back onto my butt. I really think before someone else decides like I did that the problem is fuel related just give those wires a check
