I could use your opinion on this boat!

In the picture I have added, you see where the glass is cracked. All around the hull floor and side walls the glass is no longer there. For that matter just about all glass inside the hull is brittle and cracked. Is this to damaged to be repaired or is it just another area that needs to be cleaned and re-glassed. All stringers have either lost all cover material or the previous owner didn't use anything to protect the wood. So far every piece of wood is exposed and rotten except for the transom and engine mount area. I don't mind a challenge. I don't want waste money, time, and sweat equity. From what I have seen and read on this forum, with enough time, money, and the will to succeed the boat can be sea worthy. I have uploaded a lot of pic in my area and made it public. I would be grateful if some of you would view them and give my your opinion on the boat. Thanks

It's hard to tell from that picture. Are you saying the fiberglass is cracked right down the gelcoat? Or is it that some areas looks like that flaking fiberglass. As far as the stringers go, that isn't uncommon. Stringers rot over time, usually decades though. As long as the fiberglass isn't cracked right through, then you should be okay. Post more pics if you can.

Thanks, I do not believe it is to the gel coat. I cleared all the glass away and the same material that is going up the side of the hull is what I see. I took those pics with my cell. One of my daughters has my good camera. I will get some better pic tomorrow. I had a thought today about composite stringers. Looking at different one on the web they seem to be made of foam in the center with fiberglass web wrap around it. What would be the difference if you take a sheet of foam, white, pink, blue, epoxy two on top of each other, cut it in the shape you need and wrap it in the same material the composite is wrapped in. I am sure I am not the first to think of this and probably someone has tried it and tested the difference in strength. Any thoughts?
