Re: I couldnt keep my mouth shut

My FIL from jersy introduced me to scrapple. Its very good and alot like livemush except it doesnt have the strong liver taste and has more meal. The grits are best when you eat them with "red eye gravy" made from country ham and coffie. Instant grits arent good. Slow cooked stone ground yellow grits are the best. I like my grits on top od 2 over medium eggs and covered in red eye gravy and a little butter. shezammm!

I read this thread, and just HAD to have grits for some strange reason. I went out for dinner at a place that serves breakfast all day and had a bowl with my Tex-Mex Omelet.

Scrapple is best when the edges are burnt. No place down here to buy it.

Hey Kev,
Did you have your biegnets at Cafe duMonde? Did you learn to sit up wind when you eat them?

One of my favorite bumper stickers is one I saw on an electricians truck in Tampa, FL. " When I get old, I'm going to move up North and drive Slooow".

bet just about every one has eaten grits, just didnt know it. different name up north, farina. sound familar, common baby food. finer , grind, a alternative to oatmeal. Grits is a Native American corn-based food common in the Southern United States, consisting of coarsely ground corn.
waki def
Grits is similar to other thick maize-based porridges from around the world such as polenta. It also has a resemblance to farina, a thinner porridge. The word leads back to the traditional Northern European grit gruels. Grits can be served hot or cold and as a base for a multitude of dishes from breakfast to dessert, depending on the additives. Additives can range from salt and butter, meats (especially shrimp on the east or gulf coast), cheese, rarely (but in nouvelle Southern cuisine) vegetables and sugar.

Those women (not ladies)were punks looking for a confrontation, like bar room brawlers, just a different package.

I work for ESPN and have traveled all over the country to bring you college football and basketball. I've experienced the cultures in the north, east, west, and south. Having been raised in Alabama, and seen the differences in my travels, I can honestly say, I couldn't live anywhere else. A lot of people can say what they want to about the south, but you won't find a friendlier place than here, or better food!
I can say one thing about grits, I love Girls Raised In the South.
