I can get this boat for a song and dance. The thing is, the guy who has it never ran it. He doesn't know if it had been winterized before he bought it 2 years ago. It has the Merc 260 but no outdrive. I have been wanting one with twin 4.3's but this is a pretty good deal so I'm considering it. Will this be under powered for this size boat? I figured I'd just buy a new out drive from SEI if the motor is good.

I tried going to the Sea Ray page but can't seem to do that on my phone.

it will be a dog with the single stock 260hp motor, most likely toping out about 32.

pull the SBC, drop in a BBC and Bravo or build a 383 stroker and install a bravo

30 sounds OK to me. Mainly going to be a fishing boat with the occasional mellow cruise with the wife. As long as it will get on plane I'm good. I had a buddy with twin 4 cyl, in a 29' that wouldn't get on plane.

The 454 in that boat struggles to plane with more than 4 ppl so I can only imagine what a hog a single 350 would be.

Thanks, if a 454 struggles I think I'll pass on this one and keep looking.

My brother has a mid 80's sea ray weekender of the same size. I think it's a 86, with a 260 merc. With 4 people and empty tanks except gas and it tops out around 26mph, after adjusting the trim tabs. The kids named it "Faster Daddy"
