Hi, I am new here. Been lurking for a while and made the plunge and bought a boat. I picked up a 1992 Spectrum 1706 with a 90hp Force out board. I have always liked the looks of the Spectrum boats and I found one on craigslist a little less than a month ago. Cant really find a whole lot of information on the boat or motor on the web. Would like to see a diagram of the boat, wiring, what hoses are for what, how big the fuel tank is.......
Well anyway, I took the boat out for the first time yesterday and could not start the motor!! The battery was charged but seemed to die off kind of quickley as I tried to start it. I am not sure but maybe there is a trick to starting it and I just have to figure out what the trick is
I have heard the motor run 2 times before so I know it starts. When I bought the boat they ran it for a little bit so I could hear it run. It seemed to start right up but I am sure they had it warmed up so it would start right away. The second time was when I changed the plugs, I ran it for a few seconds with muffs on. I can not get the bulb hard on the primer buld and there may be a plug in the vent? As when I took the fill cap off the bulb firmed up a little.
I am going to post a topic in the Force motor area to see what the experts say. Thanks!!!
