I hate knowing personal information about my favorite actors....

To me actors are actors, and all I really care about is how well they do their job at entertaining me. When I was a young, I had no knowledge of the Hollywood scandal sheets. Now that I am older I see what a mess success brings to Hollywood stars.

For example, my favorite Alec Baldwin movie is "the getaway" with his then wife Kim Basiger. I really love that move not only because of the classic story being re-told, but the interaction between Alec and Kim is something that only happens when you are really a couple. After they broke up, I can bearly watch the movie because I know what an *** Alec was. Thank you Hollywood.

Another example is Arnold. One of my favorite action movie actors, and I really love the Terminator series. Now, his "love child" AKA "I like to cheat on my wife" scandal leaves me cold to anything he has done or will do.

I would be a much happier movie watcher if the personal lives of actors are kept out of the public eye. I just dont want to know, and I just want to enjoy their talents without being reminded of some crappy thing they did every time I see them.

Hollywood sucks.

You do realize that actors by definition live in a live in made up worlds where any mistakes or mis-takes can be edited out.

To true, I used to really like Mel Gibson but look at the drunk *** he turned out to be. At least Harrison Ford still seams to be a good guy far as I know. Personally, I really don't get the whole fame mindset. I mean, sure, I can enjoy and respect someone for what they do, but I can't understand why some people go nuts over an actor or a singer. They are just people like everyone else doing their job.

It has always been true of all celebrities that we object to them being human, with human weaknesses. We expect, or at least want, them to be perfect athletes, actors, politicians or whatever. It would give them an excuse for being so rich and famous.

The problem is that many people would rather hear and revel in the gossip than see/hear them perform. If there wasn't a big market for the dirt, then there wouldn't be any.

I look at them as no more than props. I get disgusted at the Emmys, these people over paid and with a lot of popularity. More people know who won best actor than who one the noble peace prize. Teachers, Doctors, nurses, police officers and many others do much more than these actors will ever do. Yes they can make a good movies, but do they honestly require all this other stuff as well?

They make lots of money, get lots of fame, and will be remembered, do they really deserve more credit?

Sorry about the rant. Anyway remember these are people with a spotlight on them. Any action they do will be magnified by the media.

I can handle the celebrities being human. The part where I get irritated is when they can't manage their own lives yet are always putting their mug out there advocating for non-mainstream positions with an arrogance that we should care what they think.

Like it or not, but I cannot separate the human, once I know about their dufussnenss, and then buy the character. Sean Penn comes to mind. I will not watch a film with him in it as the actual person repulses me.

It was quite a revelation for me when I realized what a self congratulating over hyped and over done celebration the Oscars are.

Wow, I sound cynical this morning.

Actors and other famous "Stars" of music,sports,politics,business etc.are just like everyone else and make mistakes sometimes.If I dont personally know someone I dont care about their bad behavior or problems anymore than another stranger,unless they may do ME harm, and dont need to hear about it.It is as trivial as anyones anywheres mistakes or problems, except they are famous. Big deal. Im ashamed at all of the TV and news coverage of this kind of stuff because people in other countries might think all Americans are corrupt, self centered,cheating,stealing,drug abusing,lazy,stupid,desperate, etc........And I know that isnt true.Howbout more BIG stories about the good things that lots of people do?famous or not.:facepalm:

There are "good stories" but they do not sell like gossip. I will tell you that many of the "show business" people are fairly generous and stay quiet about it.

I hope the "selling like gossip"(Mostly Dirt) Is wrong except for some conceived ratings or commercial/$$$$$ BS.If its appealing to anyone,they need to get their own life and make their own gossip(Even more exciteing!!!!!!!!).Or just live and enjoy their own happiness without irrelivant distractions.
