Ok so i had to move my boat today. i was having probs with my fuel pick up so im sitting dead in the water tryign to fix the prob and re ajust my tank and what not and this friggin yahoo start doing circles around me, im in a 12 ft fiberglass duck boat. needless to say i had to sit down and wait for this arse hole to leave before i could do anything, talk about sea sick.

Well i got my motor running fairly well and im up about 1/2 throttle planed out pretty good for half throttle and these jet skiers try and keep crossing my bow, so what do i do i move up towards the bow to keep from bouncing out and push the trottle all the way open as they cross my bow they gave up pretty quick.

then some other yahoo in a big cabin cruiser starts comming at me,, hes not changing course so i do even tho im classified as a fishing vessle so what does this jack off do came within 5 ft of me, soaks me just about throws me out of the boat and then has the nerve to wave and honk his horn at me, then i got the last laugh, i saw the police boat, so i start chasing this yahoo down (ive had enough by this point) and it force him next to the cops, of course they stop both of us, needless to say he dont have a boat right now dont want to do this but your playing with my life here, enough is enough, i was out of the main water way, just going about my cruise.

Got to love the respect of others on our waters

Are you claiming you were trolling at the time? Or is there some special Canadian waterway regulations that classify your boat as a "fishing vessel" and automatically give you the right of way? If so, do you have a link to it?

Down here there's no special classification of boats into different categories. Any boat can be a "fishing vessel" if it's being used for fishing, but if it's not, the normal rules of the waterway apply to it .....

i was trolling at the time, rod clearly visible, hell i had to move the boat may as well have done some fishing lol. I guess i should have posted that before haha gotta love being up at 5 am after work

This is certainly not aimed at you, but I was cruising the Ohio, close to downtown Cincinnati, this weekend and I was amazed at the amount of "fishermen" that were anchored, or trolling the channel around the bridges. There are times the barges eat up most of the channel & pleasure craft are forced to take a wide berth around them. I would imagine that there's been a number of close calls between the fishing folk and the boating folks when that happens. Personally, I'm a total chicken when it comes to the barges.

Sad part is, i was not in the channel i was just outside of it, made sure of that lol
