i know what you mean my freind. yesterday i open up outlook after a couple of days of not checking it and i had 236 e-mails. not a darn one was a person writting me. all junk. it took me 30 min. to sort through it to make sure nobody wrote me. and whats up with the porn. i have never ever gone to one of those sites and they pound me with the stuff. my wife may get the wroung idea and think that i have gone to one. then its the cot outside the fence down the street from the dog house. nuke em all.<br /> derwood.

SPAM - Yes I hate the stuff with a vengance!<br /> :mad: <br /><br />I was reading in a computer magazine (Computerworld NZ) the other day that a guy in America called Ben Livingston has started suing spammers and has so far received $US 2,500 in cash and $US 5,600 in yet to be collected balances.... Wow! :eek: <br /><br />Check his website at http://www.smallclaim.info <br /><br />Aparently some states including Washington state and California have strong anti spamming laws. For example, Washington allows people to collect $US500.00 to $US1000.00 for each received email that uses a false address or a third party domain name (such as Hotmail).<br /><br />Sites like http://www.spamcop.net help you track the source of spam.<br /><br />Check this site out for the anti spam laws of your state;<br /><br /> http://www.spamlaws.com/state <br /><br />Could be some easy money in there for you fortunate Americans. Give 'em hell... (for the sake of humanity!) ;)

Too bad I live in Florida. No laws concerning spam yet. I used to use a so-called email filter untill I found out that it was also a name and address collector and recorded what you blocked and decided to view, than sold the results and it was legal. Telemarketers annoy the *hit outta me. Legally they can call up to 9 pm, local time. Suppose that is part of your normal sleep period. I am usually in bed by 8:30 and get up @ 4:00. Also their Do Not Call lists are not updated as required. I received a call a few weeks ago from a vinyl siding company asking if I would be interested in receiving an end of tax season special on new siding installation. I played along. What kind of special? 10% discount off labor if contracted during April. Told them not interested, did not want to take the cut in pay. That threw them for a loop. Asked what did I mean? I told them to compare my name to their listed subcontractors, I worked for them.<br />Mike
