i have a 1977 v4 johnson 140 motor

is there any way to repair the small spring that clamps on your plug with out replaceing the coil??? part of my spring broke off and a small part is still inside the plug cover head... thank you randy

Check with a auto parts place, they should be able to get you a new spark plug end, it will be the spring piece and a rubber boot to slide over it. You will have to cut off the old end of the plug wire (half inch or so), so make sure you have enough extra wire to work with. The new piece will just pierce the side of the plug wire and is held in place by the boot. It will make more sense once you see the parts.
