I have a better plan.

Go to your "user area" and block all his posts.
Then they won't even show up on your monitor. 8)

I would never do that, but I know some members have.

I think everyone has misunderstood my intentions here and I humbly apologise.

I thought the inclusion of the smileys would have shown I was joking?

If that seems unfair then at least remove all the posts that don't make sense from his count...............oh, that would be ZERO as well then! 8)8)8)

[read in boobyallian tones] Why thank you Stand, but I am sure there were a few (C&P) supercilious posts.

Hey Techno,
You use the word "Targets" like you were a Submariner.
Were you?

No, as a matter of fact my service was in the Army. I am very impressed by those who choose the sub service and my favorite cousin was married to a submariner. I was inspired to start the thread by the ham post of the frantic steering helmsman emoticon.
One of the best movies ever made was Run Silent Run Deep with Burt Lancaster and Clark Gable. And as divisive or derisive as the JB comments about the relative power of the two components American subs fared a lot better than foriegn subs in the marine battle. What was intended as a little fun almost got off to another petty struggle. Thanks for asking.

Oh techo~~~~, I never thought that you would say something that a) I cared to understand OR b) that I agreed with;)

The first time I saw that movie, I was in the seventh grade. It was serialized by the school and shown at lunchtime over a period of a week. It cost a nickle and episode to watch in the school auditorium. I was hooked. I have watched it numerous times since.

And you are correct. Out of all the major players, American Submariners paid the least price. Even at that it was substantial.

There was another movie with Robert Mitchum, I don't recall the title it was made from the Destroyer Captains point of view. The right side won in this one too. ;) I'll bet we agree on more sub movies as well, how about "Down Periscope" 8)

The Enemy Below

Mitchum had been a "feather merchant"

He rams his destroyer into the enemy submarine
